Joint Crisis Council
Scooby Doo: Mystery Inc. & Associates
An economic recession has hit the United States and, in particular, the small city of Crystal Cove. Now, criminals who were previously unmasked have begun to come up again and stir trouble in the name of getting extra money to help support themselves. There have also been unsubstantiated reports of important figures coming to Crystal Cove due to the string of paranormal thefts. Further, the “League of Villains” as it has been dubbed by local tabloids, has been consolidating power, but little remains known about the identities of those who are actually in it and what their cooperation is ultimately for. Mystery, Inc. has been called in to investigate the paranormal activities in conjunction with the local police. As the local economic crisis intensifies, there has been a seeming ‘calm before the storm,’ leaving the question open: who is planning something big, and can it be stopped? What happens next is up to you to decide..

Hello, my name is Jesse Monek. I am a senior at Flagler College where I am currently double majoring in International Studies with a concentration in political science and History, specifically high to late medieval Central European history. These have both been long-time passions of mine and I am glad to have the opportunity to study them at Flagler. I am also completing a certificate in the French language, and I know Hungarian. I love music of pretty much any genre but my favorite band is Sabaton. As a hobby, I enjoy hiking and, if possible, traveling/day trips. In my free time, I like to read about history and play grand strategy games which led me to discover Model UN as a concept. As someone who was already interested in international relations and debate, Model UN was easily something that drew me in very quickly.
So, I am very excited to be a director for this committee, because I am graduating this semester and this is a fun way to end my time at Flagler College. Another reason is that I have been given a great opportunity to guide this committee about a shared childhood experience of our generation: Scooby Doo. There are a lot of things to look forward to, as we really put our soul into this committee, so I hope everyone enjoys this frankly zany concept of a committee. Though this is my first time in a leading role at a committee, I have been consistently training with Flagler’s MUN team since last year and have had such an amazing. I am glad to be on the Flagler MUN travel team this semester so I can continue doing what I enjoy until I graduate from Flagler College. Given everything, I am happy to be doing Model UN at Flagler and I hope that you enjoy the committee we have put together for you!
